L A S T D A Y
It's very sad when you notice that a trip is about to end; today was our last Scuba Diving adventure. Having the opportunity of visiting such a priceless beach does not happen every day. The only thing I can remember about this experience is how bad I'm going to miss it. Being our last day as scuba divers was the perfect moment to have some fun in a place that had become our home. Diving as a large group, especially as a family, might probably be one of the most remarkable moments of your life. When you are diving, the opportunity of seeing an unknown |
fish, a big fat shark, or even a breathtaking coral, is not easy. But if you where lucky enough to see it, what a better sensation could you have if you shared this unforgettable moment with your family and not keep it to yourself? One of the moments that we enjoyed as a group, was when we where able to swim with groupers and pet them, but this excitement didn't finish until our heads went out of the water .
After enjoying our last diving site, telephone pole, where we had the chance of going under a couple of tunnels, and seeing the Christopher Columbus monument, we played THE MATRIX, but this time, underwater. As the dive was about to end, everyone started taking off there fins, and sticking them into the sand. As an outside viewer, you could see a huge crowd of people dressed up with a black suit and a silver tank, that where just flipping around, kicking nowhere, and especially with countless bubbles escaping their masks; we were always laughing. It was very impressive to see how at the beginning everyone was scared of doing flips, playing with their equipment, touching the sand, and even making some noise underwater. But as soon as the last moment of the dive came everyone changed their attitude. No one was scared of experimenting with their abilities under water, such as doing a head stand, a complete flip, people where walking directly in the sand, everyone was shouting of excitement, people where laughing, and we were doing some kind of an imaginary fight underwater, something that wouldn't happen normally; we went crazy.
| And just by having fun something that should have been really scary, became an event of laughter. While playing "the matrix" underwater, I noticed that I had 10 bars of oxygen, and after 10 bars comes 0. I told Tisbeth that I had 10 bars and she immediately took me to the regulator that was attached to the boat. Everyone started laughing because I had no oxygen left in my tank, so I started laughing as well. Even if this was a funny moment and I knew that nothing was going to happen because everyone was around me, you should always be aware of your |
equipment and periodically check your oxygen in case of an emergency. You need to make sure that everything's fine, especially underwater, because if you are not with a lot of people and something like this happens, you need to be ready to react, remembering that your safety always comes first.
I truly believe that this last dive was amazing. Every little thing that we did, I enjoyed it to it's maximum, and the positive environment made the dive be as extraordinary as possible. The experience that we lived today was enough as to say that this was going to be a memorable trip, and one that needs to be repeated next year.
