Pictures from day 6 - day 16 ↴
A picture a day, doesn't bore you away I've been following my habit for the past month and I'm having lots of fun. Taking pictures seems really easy, but very often, taking a purposeful image takes a lot of thought and time. Over the summer I've dedicated time to take meaningful pictures that have a literal or metaphorical meaning. Since I've been excited about the pictures I've taken, I've found myself writing a couple of lines in the night about the snaps I took. Just like I've enjoyed this habit, I hope you enjoy my pictures as well, and I encourage you to try a habit in the coming month, I assure that you'll have fun. F I X I N G F I X E D T R A I T S After thinking for a couple of hours about the book Mindset, I came to understand, that the best way to reflect about my learning and understanding was by reflected about MY mindset. It's been a long way to completely understand the concept of both mindsets, how they work, and how they affect people. Now, I'm missing about 40 pages to finish up the entire book, and honestly, I have a clear view of both mindset traits. With all the concepts taught, I've identified that I have both a growth and a fixed mindset depending on the situation. With this statement said, I've come to a conclusion that in order to have a "successful" life, the idea of having fixed traits is not the most adequate. LIFE is all about hard work, learning from your mistakes, and accepting failure as a vehicle to success and improvement. With this idea in mind, I've been reflecting about certain situations were I believe I might have a fixed mindset; I'm ready to modify it.
It's all in your mind I've been slowly reading the same book for the past month, and honestly, saying that I've been bored by the same concept is a crime. Carol Dweck, reinforces her ideas and restates many concepts that throughout the book might seem repetitive, yet she allows you to reflect upon different mindsets, and identify the ideal path to success, not necessarily what society pressure you to. Each page, surprises the reader with different daily life concepts, and there has been one idea that shocked me while I annotated my book. - - - - -
Day to day, there are thousands of events that mark people for the rest of their lives. Some of these events are constantly published in the news, were violence and aggression are definitively the highlight. Children, adolescents, and adults suffer, and they feel like NOTHING; were the hardest part to comprehend is the simple fact that while the victim suffers, the bully seeks for attention: why do they do it? I will encourage you to rethink that concept in your own time, because in this case, what matters the most, is how the victim reacts after having walked with a hump on their backs and a dirty backpack all along the hallway.

#30DAYHABIT Habits should be what keeps the world spinning. Many times, people try new things, accept new challenges, and face mind blowing risks; however, they don't necessarily do it in a daily basis. Honestly, having a habit that needs to be done every day might be challenging and hard, but if you choose a habit that you are passionate about, it's actually a fun challenge and NOT a hesitation. As soon as the idea of having a 30-day-habit over vacations was proposed, I instantly thought about exercise. What came to my mind was: running three times a week. I was excited, it was going to be a fun experience, and most importantly I had a CLEAR WHY, I wanted to be fit for the upcoming volleyball and basketball season.
I reflected for a day and I figured out that it was completely normal to dislike a habit, after all I was still trying it out, it was the first week. With no further due, an idea popped up: take one picture a day. It sounded quite common at first, but then, I started rethinking and brainstorming; I added a twist to the story, take a picture a day, but a picture that has a meaning, not anything that I went by. I started this new habit this week and I'm actually enjoying it a lot. I'm not only taking pictures that I need to think about, but when I'm about to go to sleep I'm anxious to reflect on the picture and actually clearly define the meaning of it. This is definitely a new experience, but I'm trying it out, and until now I'm discovering many hidden skills. MY FIRST WEEK PHOTOS #30daysnap ✿

But just like I had this idea, I also believe that people can improve, they can get better. By showing more effort in school, dedicating more time in your studies or even in a certain sport, you can improve your ability, therefore being more successful; getting better grades. It's clear that both of my ideas are somewhat contradictory, so what makes me believe that people can improve if I think that only some people were born with certain abilities?
But I still have a question: --is there a wrong or right answer as to which mindset should you have?-- ▼
▼ WHAT mindset do YOU have?
