The start of
BLENDZ - the new business of the IA✌ THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT ↴
Deep inside, everyone is qualified with leadership characteristics; many are under-covered, and tend to wait until a perfect snap to light up. Potentially, everything seems perfectly easy, and as 17-year-olds we are not specifically aware of how a business works behind it's visible walls. We skip all the way down to the product launching, yet, avoiding the most complicated piece of the roulette: division of rolls, selection of leaders, iterations, failures and customer relationships.
Ever since I selected the IA as a life style I've become a growth-minded leader, but not until a couple of days ago I've been conscious of it for 24 consecutive hours. But it's not enough to feel like a leader if you don't act like one. Both Andrea and I are leader of the marketing department, one that demands effort, time, dedication, and will to help the rest of you cohort.

With no further due, I was impressed by how everything got complicated when we had to make decisions. Every member was extremely sure of what they wanted their roll to be in the marketing group, which led to complications, because everyone had a true desire to become the CMO of the company. But as this was not possible, I was impressed by one specific scene that we encountered as a group: Many times, we expect the same people -- the extroverts-- to take charge of assignments, and participate in all discussions. But actually, I strongly believe, that every single human has a small sense of overpower that explodes whenever they feel comfortable of showing it off. As we might all know, there are shy people, but it is never to late for them to surprise you. I was impressed by the attitude of one of the team members; he constantly has extremely strong opinions, and over time he has developed an amazing ability to participate and will to lead in class activities. Yet, I had never seen him so sure about a position, and honestly his aspiration to lead the group blew me away, it was admirable. | It's simple to say that we have two leaders, but honestly, selecting a CMO has been one of the hardest decisions I've needed to step up to. After spending around 40 minutes of valuable working time, we came to a decision; one that seemed A from the outside picture (extremely easy), but was B from the inside one (over-thinking to achieve a final decision). We came to an agreement, but one, were the title of a leader had an unlike meaning, it was not the kind of leader that DID ALL BY him/herself, instead, a leader that had equal priorities and voice over group decisions as any other member of the marketing department. |
Wrapping up, I wanted to connect to the book The Lean Startup by Eric Ries, were the idea of startup businesses stands out, and were every single company follows a certain process in order to succeed. No matter if you are a fixed mindset leader, or a growth minded entrepreneur you will diminish your chances of succeeding if you decide to skip part of the cycle avoiding complications. In order to have a working business from the day you decide to begin, you need to have expectations and requirements. Ones might require struggle, and others might be as simple as writing your name, but trusting that you will succeed without running through obstacles is not an option.
Following through the selection of a leader was necessary to begin with BLENDZ: the future business of the Innovation Academy.
