So just like these companies, we decided to create a personal mission statement after polishing the IA's one. It might seem easy and simple to create a mission statement, but truthfully, it takes days, month or even years, just to polish your "image". Through a process of deep reflection we were able to create a personal mission statement. It all began by drawing down any ideas that we thought were important about ourselves, in other words, anything that represented us. The idea of reflecting about yourself was basically to figure out WHY YOU EXISTED, in order to then create your mission statement; believe me, figuring out why I existed was not as easy as I thought. I also focused on my strengths, what I value most about life, and what contributions I make to the people around and my community. Right after figuring out how the three aspects mentioned above -- which took about 30 minutes-- I started phrasing my mission statement with the help of my peers. Actually, it was fun to establish a motto, and believe in it, it's something I had never thought of before. So once everyone was finished with their personal reflections, we started scribbling in the board everyones mission statements; I was surprised. Everyone's ideas where extremely creative, and even though we answered the same questions when we were reflecting, everyones mission statements were completely different. |
