IMAGES to buy your product. Marketing is everything related to the "IMAGE" of a company as well. Here in Metropolis, marketing today was about contacting other people to transmit the correct image to our audience, this time through the internet.
After sending mails to different companies, only three answered back. In order for them to update their websites with new information, we had to follow certain steps that took a long time. From the three mails we received, only one specified the projects they wanted to upload to their site. On the other hand, the two other mails, were basically | |
approving the idea of updating their site, and we had the choice to send the the projects we wanted; however, always following certain requirements. What I basically did was form packages of the projects they were asking. This seemed really easy, but it took a lot of time because each mail received had mentioned that they wanted the package to include pictures, descriptions of the projects, and the floor plans. Creating the folders for the company was really entertaining, because I had to select the different pictures, read over the descriptions making sure that they were ok, and basically being really organized in order for everyone to understand what I was sending. In the case of one website, we did not had to create a package, instead we had to publish directly into the website. One important fact about this method of uploading information, was that I got to understand how a website works. Basically, they required a lot of detailed information in order for you to submit your "article". I had to follow this specific process with three different projects, and I didn't get bored. Moreover, regarding the other projects, once we created the packages done into ZIP folders, we used "We Transfer" in order to send the information to the different people that had answered back. HOW DO WE GET MORE LIKES IN FACEBOOK? More likes = more visits = more people talking about it = BETTER MARKETING. Getting more likes in you Facebook page is one of the most important factors that increments world wide re-known of your page. It's not about popularity or competition against other Facebook pages, is simply a way to be aware that more people are enjoying your BEAUTIFUL WORK. | Thinking the right way: "HOW CAN I ADD VALUE?" |
I received a mail form Jose saying: How can we get more likes in Facebook? As soon as I thought of the question I quickly answered: I can tell my friends to like the page and to spread the word. Was that the best answer? NO. It might be a great fist step and a fast initiative, but at the end they are not our target audience. They are not the ones who are going to contact METROPOLIS to have a house built, or to design a commercial building. The whole idea of having more likes in Facebook, is not only about having 50m likes as Leo Messi (which is amazing), we are looking for PURPOSEFUL LIKES. Yet, in order to be sure about the decisions I was going to take I had to research, it might sound pathetic to research about this topic, but, that's one of the best ways to LEARN, by investigating, by exploring, by showing interest.
Answering my own questions... I would love to study marketing and design my own ad's, billboards, and commercials. Want to know something? It's not only about that. Amazingly since I understood the competitive world of today, I've always seen marketing as those creative and innovative people who produce admirable and magnificent work; but the mind-blowing fact is that they not only do that. Just by dedicating one entire day to the sector of marketing I noticed that there is much more behind that well-thought ideas. Today, I did not create adds, nor billboards or commercials, I updated websites with recent information. You might think that marketing has nothing to do with this, but I'll ask you a question worth thinking. Who sees the commercials and billboards professionals produce? YOU. So: Who reads the information published in the internet? YOU. In this world, everything is done for one purpose: CLIENTS, therefore, YOU. |
