Basically, the Innovation Academy would become a small school within FDR where we take our own classes. However, this were possible ideas for the future, not necessarily the "PERFECT" change.
The ideas that were proposed regarding the change in the Innovation Academy were somewhat new to my way of viewing education, and even though they made sense, I kept option 2 as the best choice, which was keeping the Innovation Academy exactly as it is right now, taking english honors, media literacy, global issues and management, independent project, and the 3 IB Diploma Classes.
Many people also had the idea of amalgamating the Stem Classes in option 2 and keeping the IB Classes as well; this idea developed after a comment in the discussion. In my opinion the problem with Stem Classes + IA classes was that you would work with the same group of people for the entire week. As a student I do value the time I have with another group of people in my IB Diploma classes because it makes my week in school more balanced; I get to be in different environments. |
The lesson I learned was that you always need to be open for new suggestions and changes, because even though you might not like something you can combine ideas and create a fifth option with a mix of opinions. This were possible ideas that not necessarily will work in the future.
