As I got ready for my POL, Mr. Topf told me that future innovation academy students where coming to my presentation; the nerves feeling stroke again. I was afraid of presenting my POL, even though I was exited about sharing my learning and the power it had in economics. As I started processing the idea that I was going to have an authentic audience, I was not convinced, but then, I finally understood that it was part of reality; and why not share my experience if I was so excited about it?
Honestly, I was comfortable with my presentation, I knew my topic and it's importance better than anyone else, and I had practiced the POL about 5 times the night before; I was ready. As I started talking, everything came out naturally, it felt as if someone was talking for me. While I got closer to the end of the presentation I felt professional. I had been able to overcome what I thought where the hardest parts to present, and I felt a positive vibe that made me realize that most people where engaged with my presentation. Regardless some areas that needed improvement, as a whole I do believe that my presentation had a lot of potential. I was able to deliver the most important concepts of informal economics, and actually relate them back to my theme: important aspects of people that shape up a community. Adding up, I do believe that I was able to convey the intended purpose of the presentation, and leave a clear message even though there were a lot of connections to other projects that where not necessarily related to the documentary, but they where related to the theme that I had chosen.

As an overview, I' m content with my performance, and I do think that my hard work paid off Thursday during the presentation. People could actually get the sense of how complicated it was to follow such a time-consuming project, obviously still understanding how entertaining it was during the process, knowing that I learned the topic of informal economics completely independently. Even though I was happy with my presentation and how I delivered my message, there where some aspects that worked perfectly, as well as others that needed improvement. Most of the feedback received was from my peers as well as Mr. Topf; however, I agree 100% with the feedback given, and behind every bullet point mentioned there has been a deep reflection. ✄ ✄ ✄ ✄ ✄ |
