After finishing the three presentations we had to decide from 12 companies 4 that we wanted to invest in through TD Ameritrade. We had a group discussion were we evaluated the P/E ratio, beta, and price of stock of each company. There were a lot of options and all of them were very powerful. We began with the idea of investing in Starbucks, Adidas, CIsco and First Solar. However we encountered a problem when finding out the symbol for Adidas due to the fact that there where more than one. Because we couldn't find the correct symbol, our replacement option was Cummins Inc, which had a lot of potential, and positive reviews suggesting to invest in it. It was really exciting to have the company I had proposed as one of the options, and due to the high price of the stock we only bought 5 shares. I truly believe that this company will increase their stock value in the time spam of two years we have, and that will be beneficial for the Innovation Academy. We will constantly be checking the amount of money we are earning through the investments and we hope that this passes the $3,000 dollars invested. I'm excited to analyze how my company acts over time and I hope it to increase it's stock value. |
